Araghchi to FM Muttaqi: Tehran ready to play a constructive role between Kabul and Islamabad

KABUL: Iran’s Foreign Minister, Dr. Sayed Abbas Araghchi, in a telephone conversation with Mawlavi Amir Khan Muttaqi, his Afghan counterpart, expressed Iran’s readiness to play a constructive role in improving relations between Kabul and Islamabad.
According to a statement from the ministry, the Iranian Foreign Minister emphasized the importance of continued dialogue between Afghanistan and Pakistan.
Meanwhile, Mawlavi Amir Khan Muttaqi stated that Islamabad should prioritize diplomacy and understanding, adding that during the third round of talks, the Pakistani side showed no willingness to accept any responsibility, which is why no tangible results were achieved from the Istanbul negotiations.
Previously, Araghchi also discussed relations between Kabul and Islamabad in a phone call with Mohammad Ishaq Dar, his Pakistani counterpart.
