Afghan athlete wins gold medal at Islamic Solidarity Games

KABUL: Mohammad Yousuf Jahangir, a member of the Afghan national Muay Thai team, has earned a gold medal at the Islamic Solidarity Games through an exciting and powerful performance.

The Afghan athlete defeated his Turkish rival in the match held on Friday in Saudi Arabia. 

The Afghan Muay Thai fighter managed to defeat his rival with a score of 29 to 28, securing the championship title for Afghanistan.

Before reaching the final stage, he had also delivered strong performances, defeating his Indonesian and Saudi opponents in two rounds of the competition.

With these consecutive victories, Muhammad Yousuf Jahangir has become the first Afghan athlete to win a gold medal at the prestigious Islamic sports competitions.

In another achievement, Sayed Hamidullah Sadat, another athlete from the Afghan national Muay Thai team, secured a bronze medal, solidifying his position among the country’s honored athletes.

This comes as the sixth round of the Islamic Solidarity Games is currently being hosted in Saudi Arabia.
