Explosion in Indian-administered Kashmir leaves 9 dead, 29 injured

KABUL: At least 9 people have been killed and 29 others injured in a deadly explosion in Indian-administered Kashmir, Reuters reported today.

According to information from sources cited by the agency, the incident occurred following the explosion of a large quantity of seized explosives at a police station in the “administered” area of Kashmir.

Police sources, who requested anonymity, stated that most of the victims were police personnel and forensic workers gathered to investigate the explosives.

One source emphasized that some bodies are unrecognizable due to extensive burns, and described the condition of some injured individuals as critical.

He added that the blast was so powerful that body parts were found in nearby houses, approximately 100 to 200 meters away from the explosion site.

This deadly incident comes just days after a car bomb explosion in the “Red Fort” area of Delhi left nearly 30 people dead and injured.
