Hengaw human rights organization: Two Afghan nationals executed in Iran

KABUL: According to a report by Hengaw Human Rights Organization, which monitors human rights issues in Iran, two Afghan citizens have recently been executed by the Iranian government.

The organization reported on Tuesday night, stating that the Afghan citizens were condemned to death on charges of “premeditated murder” and “drug trafficking.”

The report highlights that the cases of the executed Afghan citizens in Iran are currently under scrutiny.

It was noted that the execution of these two Afghan citizens took place alongside that of six Iranian citizens.

A total of eight individuals from Iran and Afghanistan were executed in prisons in Birjand, Bojnurd, Esfarayn, Durud, Malayer, and Shiraz.

The executions of Afghan citizens in Iran occur as the Afghan government continues its efforts to facilitate the repatriation of Afghan prisoners from Iran.

Recently, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement calling on families of Afghan prisoners in Iran to share relevant information about their relatives.
