KABUL: The construction work on 12 water supply networks valued at 77 million Afghani has begun in Bamyan province, while 17 other networks have been inaugurated, the governor’s press office said in a statement on Friday night.
In a ceremony held on this occasion, was attended by Mawlavi Mohammad Yunus Akhundzada, the Minister of Rural Rehabilitation and Development, Mawlavi Abdullah Sarhadi, the governor of Bamyan, and other local officials.
Among these projects, 17 water supply networks have been launched in the districts of Sighan, Kohmard, Shiber, Yakawlang, Panjab, and the center of Bamyan province.
Moreover, construction has commenced on 12 additional networks in the center of Bamyan and the Yakawlang district.
The funding for these public benefit projects, amounting to 77 million Afghani, has been provided by the World Bank, the Aga Khan Development Foundation, and CRS.
The Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development has stated that the completion of these networks will benefit 12,600 residents of Bamyan province with access to safe drinking water.
This comes as the Minister of Rural Rehabilitation and Development has recently visited the provinces of Daikundi and Bamyan as part of his provincial travel and inauguration of development projects.
