Mission of Turkish Ambassador ends in Afghanistan; Ankara continues support for Kabul

KABUL: Cenk Unal, the Turkish Ambassador to Kabul, has informed Mawlavi Abdul Kabir, the Minister of Refugees and Reparations, about the conclusion of his mission in Afghanistan.

During his tenure, the ambassador expressed satisfaction with the hospitality of the Afghan people and emphasized that Ankara will continue its support for Kabul, according to a statement from the Ministry of Refugees and Repatriations today.

He noted that during his time as ambassador, relations between Afghanistan and Turkey have expanded significantly, with both countries making notable progress in political, trade, transit, and public welfare projects.

Ambassador Unal reiterated Turkey’s commitment to the advancement of Afghans in economic, health, and other necessary areas.

Meanwhile, Mawlavi Abdul Kabir commended Unal’s mission in Kabul as important and effective for developing Afghanistan-Turkey relations and wished him success in his future endeavors.

The Minister also praised Turkey and Qatar for their hosting and efforts in the recent discussions between Afghanistan and Pakistan.

He emphasized the importance of proper treatment of Afghan migrants, stating that access to Turkish visas is crucial in preventing irregular migration.

Cenk Unal was appointed as Turkey’s ambassador to Afghanistan nearly two years ago.
