KABUL: In four Asian countries, severe floods and landslides have resulted in a death toll exceeding 1,100, with Indonesia and Sri Lanka being the most severely affected.
In Indonesia, at least 593 people have died due to floods and landslides, with nearly 470 still missing.
Local officials report that more than one million people have been impacted by these disasters.
Meanwhile, in Sri Lanka, the prolonged crisis caused by the Dithwa cyclone has forced the government to seek international aid. Officials state that at least 355 people have died and 366 are unaccounted for, with military helicopters being deployed to rescue stranded individuals.
In southern Thailand, floods have claimed the lives of 176 people, while in Malaysia, three have died due to similar conditions.
