KABUL: The United Nations Security Council in the strongest possible terms condemned the explosion at a joint Afghan-Chinese restaurant in Shahr-e-Naw, Kabul.
In a statement released on Wednesday night, the Security Council expressed its deepest condolences to the families of the victims, as well as to the people of Afghanistan and China, wishing a speedy recovery to those injured.
The statement emphasized that terrorism, in all its forms, represents one of the most serious threats to peace and security both in Afghanistan and globally. It called on all nations to actively cooperate in holding accountable those responsible for, orchestrating, and supporting such terrorist acts.
The bombing incident, which occurred three days ago in Kabul, has triggered reactions from various countries in the region.
Most recently, the Turkish Foreign Ministry released a statement condemning the attack.
The explosion on Monday afternoon at the restaurant owned by Chinese citizens resulted in at least seven fatalities and left 13 others injured.
