JALALABAD: At least seven members of a family lost their lives due to the collapse of their house roof in the outskirts of Nangarhar province, officials confirmed.
Sayed Tayeb Hamad, police spokesperson of Nangarhar told Radio Omid today that the incident occurred in the Ghochko area of the seventh PD of Jalalabad, the provincial capital, late last night.
The spokesperson also mentioned that the father of the family was injured in the collapse, and health sources called his condition as satisfactory.
Hamad did not provide details regarding the cause of the roof collapse that led to this tragic incident.
Previously, heavy rains and snowfall have caused the roofs of several houses to collapse, resulting in casualties.
