Minister of Higher Education: Afghanistan’s current system and laws are Islamic

KABUL: Shaikh Neda Mohammad Nadeem, the Minister of Higher Education, in response to criticisms regarding the new penal code for the country’s courts, stated that the current system, orders, and regulations in Afghanistan are all Islamic.
Speaking at a meeting in Paktia province, he said that at present, any decree or directive can be called Islamic and implemented nationwide, and no one can prevent the promotion of good and the prohibition of vice in society.
He urged citizens to seek clarity and information about whether the current laws, especially the newly issued regulations for the courts, are Islamic by consulting mosque scholars, even those who do not hold formal positions within the system.
Shaikh Nadeem also advised the public not to miss the current opportunities and to ensure that those attempting to distort Islamic rulings are not allowed to succeed.
Previously, Mawlavi Zabihullah Mujahid, the spokesperson for the Islamic Emirate, has defended the new regulations in various media sessions, stating that they are in accordance with Islamic rulings.
Additionally, the Ministry of Justice has announced that critics of the current laws, orders, and regulations rooted in Islamic sources will face legal action.
