KABUL: The Ministry of Water and Energy said in a statement today that the construction work on a check dam and the reconstruction of a water canal worth 7.5 million Afghanis kicked off in Ghazni Province.
According to the statement, the check dam will be built in Koh Surkh and the canal will be reconstructed Dabayee area of the Zankhan and Ajristan districts of the province.
The check dam will be 49.6 meters long and 6 meters high, with a storage capacity of 5,000 cubic meters. The canal will be 318 meters long, and its completion will enable the irrigation of dozens of hectares of land.
The projects will be implemented from the development budget of the Ministry of Water and Energy.
