A cargo plane departing from runway in Hong Kong leaves 2 dead

KABUL: A cargo plane’s departure from the runway during landing at Hong Kong International Airport resulted in the deaths of two security personnel, Reuters reported today.
According to airport security officials, the aircraft, which had flown in from Dubai, veered off the runway and collided with a vehicle carrying security personnel who were patrolling the area, throwing them into the sea.
Images released from the incident show that the Boeing 747 aircraft itself fell into the water, with part of it submerged.
Steven Yu, the executive director of airport operations in Hong Kong, stated that the four flight crew members survived the incident.
The report indicates that this accident occurred at the world’s busiest cargo airport, involving a plane belonging to Turkish cargo company ACT Airlines, which was operated by Emirates Airlines based in Dubai.
The cause of the aircraft’s unexpected departure from the runway is still unknown, and investigations have commenced.
This incident is reported to be unprecedented and deadly in Hong Kong in the past 25 years.
