KABUL: Officials from Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs have recently expressed their appreciation for Iran’s willingness to mediate in resolving the disputes between Kabul and Islamabad.
According to Dawn, a Pakistani newspaper, Tahir Hussain Andrabi, spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan during a press conference, emphasized that Islamabad believes Iran can play a significant role in resolving the disagreements between Kabul and Islamabad, hence there is no reluctance to accept any mediatory role from Iran.
He stated, “Iran is a brotherly and friendly country. Pakistan has always advocated for the peaceful resolution of issues through dialogue and diplomacy, and we appreciate our brother Iran’s offer for mediation.”
Over the past month, relations between Kabul and Islamabad have significantly deteriorated due to military clashes and violations of Afghanistan’s airspace by Pakistan.
During this time, Iranian officials have repeatedly expressed their readiness to help resolve the tensions between Afghanistan and Pakistan.
