KABUL: Mawlavi Ahmadullah Wasoq, the General Director of the Olympic, Physical Education, and Sports Authority, stated that Afghanistan is prepared to host international sports competitions.
He announced that four Uzbek players have arrived in Kabul for the 2025 Open Badminton Tournament.
He mentioned on his X account that the tournament will commence on the 13th of this month and will last until the 19th. Afghan, Iranian, Uzbek, and Syrian players will participate in the tournament.
He emphasized that Afghanistan is fully committed to hosting international sports competitions and that the arrival of foreign athletes is a positive step for the country’s sports reputation and international engagement.
