Termez-Hairatan route reopened after 4 years; traffic and passenger movement normalized

KABUL: The Uzbekistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry has announced that traffic on the Termez-Hairatan bridge has officially resumed, allowing citizens of both countries to travel through this route with a visa.
Uzbek officials state that the reopening of the border will revitalize trade between the two countries. They anticipate that Uzbekistan’s exports to Afghanistan will increase in the coming years, potentially reaching $2.5 billion by the end of 2026.
Economic experts view the reopening of the Termez-Hairatan route as a significant advancement for regional trade.
They believe this development will strengthen economic relations between Afghanistan and Uzbekistan.
