KABUL: Zalmay Khalilzad, the former U.S. special representative for Afghanistan, has stated that the U.S. views the Islamic Emirate’s fight against ISIS in Afghanistan positively and has expressed satisfaction with these efforts.
In an exclusive interview with Tolo News, Khalilzad mentioned that the release of prisoners, as part of the Doha agreement, includes the battle against ISIS in Afghanistan.
According to him, the U.S. has evaluated the situation over the past four years and found that the Islamic Emirate has taken serious actions against this group.
He emphasized that ISIS is considered a dangerous threat not only to Afghanistan and the U.S. but to the entire region.
Khalilzad’s remarks come at a time when the Islamic Emirate has previously insisted on continuing efforts against ISIS and stated that they would not allow any group to pose a threat to other countries from Afghan territory.
