KABUL: Work has begun on three electricity production projects, transmission, and distribution at the Green Industry Park in Kabul, valued at $40 million.
In a ceremony held on this occasion was attended by high-ranking government officials today, here in Kabul.
Dr. Abdul Bari Omar, the CEO of Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherket, stated that these projects include a solar power production facility with a capacity of 34 megawatts, the construction of a substation with a capacity of 126 megavolt-amperes, and a 220-kilovolt transmission line.
In his speech during the opening ceremony, Dr. Omar mentioned that the projects are expected to be completed and put into operation within 18 months. He added that the completion of these three projects will not only support industry and economic growth but also alleviate power issues for industrialists.
He emphasized that these projects will help reduce the electricity shortages in Kabul and decrease the load on the capital’s power grid.
According to Dr. Omar, the implementation of these three projects will create job opportunities for 500 individuals, both directly and indirectly.
Da Afghanistan Breshna Company director urged investors to take advantage of the opportunities available in the energy sector in the country.
Just two days ago, the largest solar power project, valued at $18 million, was inaugurated in the Sarobi district of Kabul.
