Iran to cooperate with Afghanistan in mines extractions

KABUL: The acting Minister of Mines and Petroleum Shaikh Shahabuddin Delawar met with Mohammad Hassan Kazemi Qomi, Ambassador and special envoy of Iran, here in Kabul, the ministry said in a statement Thursday. 

In the meeting, Minister Delawar, in addition to the achievements of the Islamic Emirate, talked about the four blocks of the Ghorian iron mine in Herat, the gold mines of Raghistan, Badakhshan and Kunduz, and the oil and gas blocks in Herat, according to the statement.

Ambassador Qomi, provided information regarding Afghan students studying in Iran and assured his country’s cooperation in Afghanistan mines extractions.

The neighboring country of Iran, in the past two and a half years of the Islamic Emirate rule, had extensive political, economic, commercial, and transit relations with Afghanistan, and it will provide 70 percent of the country’s liquid gas in the coming year.
