KABUL: The Ministry of National Defense has confirmed that a high-level delegation, led by Mohammad Qasim Fareed, the Strategic Deputy of the Ministry, has traveled to Russia.
According to a statement from the ministry today, the delegation met with Vasily Osmakov, Deputy Minister of Defense of Russia.
The statement indicates that during the meeting, Afghan and Russian officials discussed key topics, including “regional security, mutual cooperation, and comprehensive ways to address security challenges.”
It further emphasized the importance of continuing to strengthen formal interactions and enduring collaborations from both sides.
Prior reports from Russian state media also mentioned the meeting between military officials from Afghanistan and Russia in Moscow, citing a statement from the Russian Ministry of Defense.
