KABUL: Mawlavi Zabihullah Mujahid, spokesman for Afghanistan’s Islamic Emirate, stated that no one has provided a single Afghanis or dollar in aid to the country.
He described such claims as propaganda aimed at tarnishing the reputation of the Islamic system, allegedly supported by former intelligence and foreign forces.
Mujahid emphasized that the Afghan government’s policy does not seek assistance from abroad.
He noted, “The leadership of the Islamic Emirate even rejected our statement during the earthquake, which called for international aid; rather, leaders wanted assistance to come from the Afghan people so as not to be at the mercy of others.”
He further explained that the $40 million aid package was a contribution made by foreign organizations and foundations two or three years ago specifically designated for humanitarian purposes, with its control remaining in the hands of those organizations.
He asserted that their government desires to place Afghanistan at the forefront and is inviting all countries to establish strong relations and invest here.
This statement comes in light of recent media reports indicating that the U.S. Senate has approved a plan to prevent aid from reaching the Islamic Emirate.
