KABUL: The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has announced the commencement of simultaneous attacks in major cities of Pakistan’s Balochistan province against the country’s military.
ARAN News, a Pakistani news outlet, reported this morning that a senior police official stated that the attacks began in the provincial capital, Quetta, at 6:00 AM with an explosion, continuing with gunfire and explosions for two hours.
According to the police official, who has not been named, the attackers intended to enter the city following these assaults but encountered resistance from police forces. He mentioned that two police officers have been killed as a result of the attacks and emphasized that a police cleanup operation is ongoing against the attackers.
Meanwhile, an armed group affiliated with the Baloch Liberation Movement has released a video online claiming that the BLA’s simultaneous assaults against Pakistani forces, under the title “Hero 02,” have begun in various parts of Balochistan province.
So far, the Pakistani government has not officially commented on the commencement of the attacks or the number of casualties involved.
The Baloch Liberation Army is one of the armed groups opposing the Pakistani government, operating within the Balochistan region of the country.
