Over 230 SPG-9 ammunition seized in Badghis

BADGHIS: Afghan security forces have discovered and seized 233 rounds of SPG-9 ammunition along with a hand grenade during a clearance operation in Badghis province.

According to a statement from the 207 Al-Farooq Army Corps, the munitions believed to be remnants from the Soviet era, were found in Ghormach District.

Officials said the operation is part of ongoing efforts to clear unexploded ordnance and improve public safety.

In separate incidents, authorities also reported the safe disposal of a landmine in Zan Khan District of Ghazni province and an airstrike bomb in Daman District of Kandahar province both remnants of past conflicts.
