KABUL: Khalifa Sirajuddin Haqqani, the Minister of Interior Affairs, says that the participation of athletes from different countries and the experience of receiving them show that the country is becoming happier and progressing day by day, and that the message of peace and stability of Afghanistan is being spread more widely.
The media office of the Ministry of Interior Affairs, in a statement released today, said that Minister Haqqani made the remarks during his meeting with officials and athletes from six countries participating in the international event of Traditional Wrestling (Tazi/traditional wrestling) in Kabul.
The Minister of Interior Affairs called the athletes the unofficial ambassadors of their countries and said they should carry the message of peace, brotherhood, and a positive image of Afghanistan back to their home countries.
In part of the statement, it is also mentioned that he assured the leadership of the Olympic Committee and representatives of Afghan athletes of any cooperation and support, and praised the hospitality extended to foreign athletes and the good organization of the competitions.
It is also worth noting that the international event of Traditional Wrestling was successfully held in Kabul with the participation of athletes from seven countries, including Afghanistan.
Also, a banquet was hosted by the Governor of Kabul for the officials of the teams participating in the international “Traditional Wrestling” competitions last night.
