KABUL: A child has been martyred and two others injured after an unexploded ordnance detonated in the Dasht-e Kewan area of the 3rd Police District in Ghazni province, according to local police.
The press of the Ghazni police said that in the explosion, a 12-year-old child was martyred, and two others sustained injuries. The wounded were transported to Ghazni Civil Hospital with the assistance of security forces and local residents.
Officials added that the children belonged to nomadic families, and the condition of the injured is reported to be stable.
Unexploded ordnance remains a persistent danger in several parts of Afghanistan, posing ongoing risks to civilians, especially children in rural areas.
