First inter-ministerial meeting held to discuss preventing traffic accidents on highways

KABUL: After the approval of the plan by the cabinet meeting to prevent traffic accidents on the country’s highways, the first inter-ministerial meeting was held today, the Ministry of Interior said in a statement. 

According to the statement, based on the decree of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Emirate Shaikh Mullah Hibatullah Akhundzada, the first joint meeting among the Ministries of Interior Affairs, Justice, Public Works, Transportation and representatives of transportation companies was held, discussing the prevention of traffic accidents on the country’s highways.

The meeting discussed several issues including the proposal of the resolution approved by the cabinet, the obligations of related ministries and departments regarding the prevention of traffic accidents in the country, the statement said

The Senior Deputy of Security Affairs of the Ministry of Interior Mawlavi Ibrahim Sadr, listened to the proposals of transportation companies and emphasized obedience to the traffic law by the transportation companies and stressed that the life and financial security of the people should be in their top priority, according to the statement.

“All transportation companies and their drivers are obliged to comply with the law and procedure to prevent traffic accidents,” the statement quoted Mawlavi Sadr as saying.
