Kabul and Tehran hold talks on expanding cooperation in mining and energy

KABUL: Mawlavi Abdul Rahman Qanet, Deputy Minister for Policy and Programs of Ministry of Mines and Petroleum, met with Alireza Bigdeli, Iran’s Ambassador to Afghanistan, here in Kabul.

The Ministry of Mines and Petroleum said the two sides discussed economic cooperation between Afghanistan and Iran, mineral resources, and other related issues.

The Iranian ambassador expressed Iran’s readiness to expand and strengthen bilateral cooperation, particularly in the areas of oil and gas, laboratory development, and several other sectors.

The meeting comes as Afghanistan and Iran continue efforts to strengthen economic and technical cooperation in the mining and energy sectors.
