KABUL: Mawlavi Zabihullah Mujahid, spokesperson for the Islamic Emirate, says an average of 440 sporting competitions were held each month in Kabul and the provinces during the 1447 Lunar year.
Radio Omid reported that Mujahid made the remarks during the “Government in the Mirror of the Media” program, saying Afghanistan also hosted two international competitions in badminton and traditional wrestling during the year.
He added that 240 Afghan athletes participated in 32 international competitions during the period, winning a total of 62 medals, including 15 gold, 18 silver and 29 bronze.
