KABUL: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs says it has summoned Pakistan’s acting ambassador in Kabul over what it described as violations of Afghan airspace and airstrikes on several provinces of the country.
In a statement, the ministry said it expressed a strong and firm protest over Pakistan’s recent airstrikes and handed the Pakistani diplomat a formal note of protest.
According to the statement, Pakistani military forces carried out airstrikes last night on parts of Kandahar, Paktia and Khost provinces, which the ministry said resulted in civilian casualties.
The Afghan Foreign Ministry condemned the attacks, describing them as a violation of Afghanistan’s national sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The ministry also rejected Pakistan’s claims that Afghan territory is being used as a source of security threats against Pakistan, saying such allegations cannot justify military action inside Afghanistan.
