KABUL: The Book Evaluation Commission held meeting with the Acting Deputy Publication Minister of Information and Culture and the Director of Bakhtar News Agency, Mawlavi Ziaulhaq Haqmal, on the chair, assessing scores of various types of books, the ministry said in a statement on Monday.
Speaking about the implemented activities Mawlavi Haqmal asked the commission members to accurately evaluate the books and allow publication for those that are under the Islamic values and national interests, said the statement.
The commission evaluated 20 volumes of books and those that were not in conflict with Islamic and Afghan values were allowed to be published, and books that were written against Islamic and Afghan values were suspended.
The evaluated books were distributed among the commission members for reading, and the members were tasked to share their findings in the next meeting.
