Supreme Leader urges students to continue religious studies, respect teachers

KABUL: Supreme Leader of the Islamic Emirate, Shaikh Hibatullah Akhundzada on Thursday urged students at a jihadist madrasa in Kandahar to continue their religious studies, share their knowledge with others and avoid arrogance.

In his speech, Akhundzada described knowledge as a means of understanding and practising religion, saying students should pursue learning for religious understanding and practice rather than worldly status or positions.

He also stressed the importance of respecting teachers, attending scholarly and jurisprudential gatherings, and observing the madrasa’s rules and regulations.

According to Akhundzada, religious scholars are the heirs of the prophets and play an important role in guiding and reforming society.

The gathering concluded with prayers for the Islamic Emirate and the Afghan people.
