Iran: U.S. seeks to impose its demands instead of negotiating

KABUL: Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei has accused the United States of seeking to impose its demands on Iran rather than engaging in genuine negotiations.

Iran’s Tasnim News Agency reported that Baghaei said the main obstacle to negotiations was not Iran’s religious beliefs, but Washington’s unilateral approach to the talks.

He stressed that a lasting agreement could not be reached without taking the other side’s legitimate interests into account and making mutual concessions.

His remarks come as tensions between Iran and the United States continue, while diplomatic efforts have yet to produce a breakthrough.
