KABUL: The Ministry of Water and Energy said in a statement on Sunday that the construction work on a check dam worth 4.3 million Afghanis has been started in Laghman province.
According to the statement, the dam with a length of 30 meters and depth of four meters, will be built in the Gularam village, Mehtarlam city, the capital of Laghman province.
The dam has the capacity to restore, 3,500 cubic meters of water and will be completed within six months, said the statement.
