Refugee ministry rejects UNHCR’s recent report on leaving 8 million people and calls it untrue

KABUL: The Ministry of Refugees and Repatriations in a statement has rejected the report of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, which stated that 8 million Afghans have moved to other countries after 2020.

In response to the latest report of the United Nations Refugee Agency, the ministry said today that 3.7 million Afghan refugees have returned to the country in the past three years.

“The United Nations, High Commissioner for Refugee published false information about Afghanistan to attract donors’ attention,” said the statement.
