KABUL: The Acting Public Health Minister of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan Mawlavi Noor Jalal Jalali, met with Kwabena Asante, the Head of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) in Afghanistan, the ministry said in a statement today.
In the meeting, the establishment of health centers in white areas, and the expansion of service delivery in health centers, especially for mothers and children, was discussed.
According to the statement, Minister Jalali spoke about the priorities of the Ministry of Public Health and stressed that this ministry is making efforts to provide health services in the most remote areas.
In the meeting, the UNFPA Office in Afghanistan was also asked to increase its cooperation in terms of caring for health services in the fistula sector, especially for female patients, said the statement.
The Ministry of Public Health has intensified its efforts to expand the provision of health services in the most remote areas of the country.
