KABUL: The Finance and Administrative Deputy Minister of Information and Culture Mawlavi Qudratullah Jamal, in a meeting with Umid Shodiyev, the Minister of Tourism of Uzbekistan, said that eight million domestic tourists and 6,158 foreign tourists visited the country’s tourist attractions last year, the ministry said in a statement today.
According to the statement, in the meeting, Mawlavi Jamal emphasized the strengthening and growth of tourism between Afghanistan and Uzbekistan.
He also evaluated the tourism industry as effective in strengthening the relations between the two countries.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Tourism of Uzbekistan assured of his country’s cooperation in sharing experiences in the tourism sector with Afghanistan.
He also, by stating that travel and tourism strengthen friendship, invited the leadership of the Ministry of Information and Culture to participate in a meeting on tourism to be held in Uzbekistan in November of this year.
