KABUL: Based on the decree of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Emirate Amir-ul-Momineen Shaikh-ul-Hadith Mawlavi Hebatullah Akhundzada, 3,200 prisoners have been released in the past one year, the officials of the Prison Administration said.
The leadership of the Prison Administration in a press conference held today at the Government Media and Information Center (GMIC) sharing the one-year achievements of the administration said that during this time [one year] 655 additional prisoners received sentence reductions.
The decrees were issued on the eve of Eid al-Fitr, Eid al-Adha, and the holy month of Ramadan.
Meanwhile, the officials also stated that in the one past year, 2,241 prisoners obtained graduation certificates after completing religious education programs in the prisons.
