KABUL: The High Commission for Counter-Narcotics of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, during a ceremony has been inaugurated today by the Deputy Prime Minster for Political Affairs Mawlavi Abdul Kabir, Arg said in a statement on Saturday.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by the Islamic Emirate high-ranking officials, cabinet members and some other officials, said the statement.
Speaking in the ceremony, the Acting Minister of National Defense Mawlavi Mohammad Yaqoob Mujahid, said that the establishment of this commission reflects the Islamic Emirate’s determination and commitment in fighting narcotics.
The Deputy Prime Minister for Political Affairs Mawlavi Abdul Kabir, during the inauguration of the commission, said that the 20-year foreign invasion led by the United States has been a significant factor in the increase of narcotics production in Afghanistan.
Meanwhile, the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs Khalifa Sirajuddin Haqqani, called the Islamic Emirate’s achievements in combating narcotics unprecedented over the past three years.
Also, the Acting Minster of Foreign Affairs Mawlavi Amir Khan Muttaqi, emphasized that addressing the global challenge of narcotics requires strong willpower.
