KABUL: The Acting Minister of Information and Culture Mullah Khairullah Khairkha, has stated that tourism plays a key role in enhancing relations between Afghanistan and Uzbekistan, according to a statement from the ministry on Friday.
Minister Khairkha, made the remarks during his visit to St. Petersburg, Russia, in a meeting with Azadbek Nazarbaev, the Minister of Tourism and Cultural Heritage of the Republic of Uzbekistan, where the two sides discussed the important role of the tourism industry in strengthening the ties between the two countries.
“Afghanistan and Uzbekistan have many religious, cultural, and historical commonalities that are important for the Islamic Emirate,” the statement quoted Khairkha as saying.
He emphasized the need to enhance the tourism industry between the two nations.
Meanwhile, the Uzbekistan the Minister of Tourism and Cultural Heritage said that currently good opportunity is provided to strengthen relations between the two countries than-ever before.
Mullah Khairullah Khairkha traveled to St Petersburg two days ago to participate in the international conference “Unity of Cultures.”
