IEA confirms killing of Afghan migrants by Iranian border forces

KABUL: The deputy spokesperson of the Islamic Emirate Mullah Hamdullah Fitrat, in a statement today confirmed the killing of Afghan migrants by Iranian border forces.

He noted that a committee assigned by the Islamic Emirate has confirmed the reports of shootings and explosions targeting Afghan migrants in the Kalagan area based on evidence and documentation.

He emphasized that investigations by the Islamic Emirate committee are still ongoing.

“So far, the bodies of two martyred individuals and 34 injured Afghan migrants have been transferred through the committee back into the country, and efforts are continuing for the transfer of the remaining individuals,” he said.

The investigations are not yet complete, and details will be shared with the people once they are finalized, he further said.

It is worth noting that nearly two weeks ago, reports emerged about Iranian border forces firing upon 300 Afghan migrants in areas along the Iran-Pakistan border.

The Islamic Emirate has appointed a delegation led by a deputy from the Ministry of Interior to further clarify this matter.
