KABUL: The Acting Minister of Water and Energy, Mullah Abdul Latif Mansour, during a ceremony signed the geophysical and geotechnical feasibility agreement of the Bagh Dara power dam with Song Wenbing, the head of the Aynak Copper Mine contractor company (MCC-JCL), the ministry said in a statement on Sunday.
According to the statement, the ceremony was attended by the Chinese Ambassador to Afghanistan, Zhao Xing, and a number of high-ranking Emirati officials, the statement said, adding that the dam will be implemented in the Kapisa province of the country.
Considering the implementation of the Bag Dara power dam as a valuable achievement in the field of joint cooperation between China and Afghanistan, Minister Mansour emphasized the development of bilateral cooperation between Kabul and Beijing in various fields.
Meanwhile, the Chinese officials called the signing of the geophysical and geotechnical agreement of the dam an important step toward continuing and expanding cooperation between Kabul and Beijing.
