KABUL: Afghanistan was the largest buyer of Russia’s flour in 2024.
The Russian state-run TASS news agency, citing the Agroexport Center, reported on Friday night that flour worth $80 million was imported by Afghanistan from Russia in 2024.
The Agroexport Center, which is part of the Russian Ministry of Agriculture, stated that flour exports to Afghanistan in 2024 have doubled compared to 2023.
Overall, Russia has exported flour worth $300 million in 2024, reflecting a 3% increase in value and a 7% increase in physical volume.
This comes as political and economic interactions between Kabul and Moscow have been on the rise over the past year.
