KABUL: Seyyed Abbas Araghchi, the Iranian Foreign Minister, at the head of a government delegation, entered Kabul.
Mohammad Ismail Baghai, spokesperson for the Iranian Foreign Ministry, said in a statement on Sunday that the purpose of Araghchi’s visit is to meet with officials of the Islamic Emirate to discuss mutual interests and concerns between Afghanistan and Iran.
The spokesperson emphasized that this visit could be a significant step in securing the interests of both Kabul and Tehran.
During this trip, the Iranian Foreign Minister is accompanied by a group of Iranian traders and investors.
Two days ago, the Iranian embassy in Kabul announced the upcoming visit of Abbas Araghchi, with officials from the Iranian Foreign Ministry describing it as a new chapter in relations between Tehran and Kabul.
