U.S. military F-35 fighter jet crashed

KABUL: A U.S. military F-35 fighter jet has crashed during military training exercises, the Associated Press reported on Tuesday night.

The aircraft fell at a U.S. military base in Alaska, and the pilot successfully ejected using a parachute.

Paul Townsend, a commander at the military base, announced in a press conference that a comprehensive investigation into the incident has been initiated to prevent similar occurrences in the future.

Videos of the crash show the fighter jet catching fire after impact.

The F-35 is one of the most expensive fighter jets in the U.S. military, with each unit costing approximately $80 million.
