Mawlavi Amir Khan Mutaqi: We do not want Afghanistan to be battlefield for global powers’ competitions

KABUL: Mawlavi Amir Khan Muttaqi, the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs, stated that the Islamic Emirate does not want Afghanistan to be a negative battleground for regional countries and global powers’ competition.

In an interview with BBC Persian, he emphasized that the Islamic Emirate aims to adopt a balanced policy to foster political and economic relations that respect the dignity of both parties.

“The U.S. could engage in political and economic relations with the Islamic Emirate by adhering to the Doha Agreement, which calls for non-interference in Afghanistan’s internal affairs and ensures the dignity of both Kabul and Washington,” he said as quoted by the BBC.

“We want Afghanistan to become a hub for connectivity, economy, politics, and cooperation with all countries. In this regard, we have very good relations with many nations”.

Mawlavi Amir Khan Muttaqi further said: “We want Afghanistan to be a center of connectivity, economy, politics, and cooperation with everyone after now. In this regard and policy, we have very good relations with many countries.”
