Saudi Arabia emphasizes formation of an independent state in Palestine

KABUL: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia has stated that the country’s position regarding the establishment of an independent state in Palestine is unwavering and steadfast.

According to a statement from the ministry on Tuesday, the issue in response to remarks made by former U.S. President Donald Trump regarding the expulsion of Palestinians from their land and the occupation of the country.

The statement emphasized that Saudi Arabia will not establish relations with the Zionist Israel regime until an independent state is formed in Palestine.

It also reiterated that East Jerusalem must be the future capital of a sovereign Palestinian state.

Furthermore, the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned any violations of Palestinian rights, including the displacement of citizens, annexation of Palestinian land, and the expansion of Israeli settlements.

This comes amid the U.S. President Trump’s comments suggesting that Washington would occupy Gaza in the presence of Israeli officials.
