Over 2,600 families receive foodstuff aids in Samangan

KABUL: Food assistance has been distributed to 2,643 needy families in the Samangan province, officials from the Afghanistan Social Improvement Organization (ASIO) said on Saturday.

Nik Mohammad Nikzai, the director of ASIO, stated that food aid was provided to families residing in the Khulm district of Samangan through financial support from the World Food Programme (WFP).

Each family received 50 kilograms of flour, 4.5 kilograms of oil, 6.25 kilograms of chickpeas, and 500 grams of salt.

Also, each aid package included 1.5 kilograms of special nutritious food for children and 3 kilograms of super cereal.

The distribution aims to alleviate the needs of vulnerable families in Samangan province.

Last week, cash and food assistance was also provided to thousands of families in various provinces.
