Reconstruction of Gaza needs over $50 billion, World Bank

KABUL: The World Bank has assessed the damages from the 15-month-long attacks by the Zionist Israeli regime on the Gaza Strip at $53.2 billion.

According to a statement from the World Bank on Tuesday night, the assessment was conducted in collaboration with the United Nations, the European Union, and the World Bank.

The evaluation includes not only the Gaza Strip but also the devastated areas of the West Bank, said the statement, adding that at least 10 years will be required for the reconstruction of the damages in both Gaza and the West Bank.

Estimates indicate that out of the mentioned amount, $20 billion will be needed in the first three years of the decade.

The Israeli regime has dropped thousands of tons of bombs on the Gaza Strip during the past 15 months, turning the area into ruins.
