KABUL: Olaf Scholz, the Prime Minister of Germany, has accepted his defeat in the elections and congratulated Friedrich Merz, his rival from the conservative party.
The parliamentary elections in Germany concluded on Sunday night, as citizens cast their votes.
Friedrich Merz, leader of the conservative party, announced his party’s victory before the official end of the election and promised to form a government.
With this outcome, Merz will be the conservative party’s candidate for the Prime Minister chair of Germany.
In his victory speech, Merz stated that he would do everything in his power to achieve a genuine separation and independence for Europe from the United States. Germany is one of the major European countries and has been the second-largest military supporter of Ukraine against Russia after the U.S. over the past three years.
