Asphalting 2-kilometer road valued at 36 million Afghanis begins in Herat

KABUL: Asphalting a 2-kilometer road, worth 36 million Afghanis in the center of Herat province has been kicked off, the governor’s press office said in a statement today.

The asphalting of the road begins in Pul-e-Nazargah area of Herat and extends to the Gazarkah Shrine in the city.

The first layer of asphalting was inaugurated in the presence of the Herat mayor.

The road from the development budget of Herat municipality will be constructed with consideration of surrounding drainage channels, said the statement.

During a visit to the project site, the Herat mayor emphasized the importance of quality work by the contracting company.

Herat is a significant and strategic province in the west of the country, where the implementation of developmental projects continues to enhance the living conditions of its residents.
