KABUL: In a recent meeting of the Economic Commission chaired by Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, ten investment projects totaling 2 billion and 274 million Afghani have been approved after a comprehensive evaluation.
The Deputy Prime Minister’s office said in a statement on Sunday that the projects include the construction of a two-story commercial market in Khwaja Ghar District of Takhar Province, a five-story commercial market in Sheberghan, the capital of Jawzjan Province, a ten-story commercial market in Khost City, a five-story market in Mehtarlam, the capital of Laghman Province, and two eight-story commercial markets in Kabul’s 11th and 1st districts.
Additionally, the approved projects include the construction of a 20-story commercial and residential building in Kabul’s 10th district, the establishment of an underground commercial market in the Wajdand area of Jalalabad, the capital of Nangarhar Province, and the construction of a commercial complex with all necessary amenities at the Islam Qala trade port in Herat Province.
The Economic Commission also noted the approval of a project to establish a nursery for growing fruit trees on 150 jeribs of land in Gozarah District of Herat Province.
The Economic Commission reviews and approves these and other commercial projects to improve the economic situation, create job opportunities, and increase revenue streams.
